WHAT DO WE DO?

We provide you with advice and help on any issues with regard to your rights in a variety of circumstances such as: Promotion and Tenure, Disciplinary and Investigative Action, issues involving other colleagues (including your chair), or students (e.g., discrimination complaints).

In the past we have provided input and advice to departments and individual faculty. We have accompanied faculty to meetings with their dean, VP for Academic Affairs, or the President, as well as with other administrators charged with an investigatory role. We have provided advice on how to prepare for such a meeting. We have helped draft responses to evaluation or disciplinary letters written by administrators.

We like to diffuse situations before they get out of hand. We rely on each others' experience and training. For that reason we urge you to contact any one of us, whenever a concern arises regarding your rights. We come from different colleges, so you don't even need to talk to someone in your college. We can meet on campus or off campus. Meeting with us does not necessitate filing a grievance. However, if a grievance needs to be filed we'll do it for you.
